Reduces complaints of gastroenteritis in pets like sudden onset of vomiting followed by diarrhoea with inflammation, irritation and infection of the lining of gastrointestinal tract.
- Holarrhena antidysenterica – Also called as kurchi. Holarrhena is a flowering plant distributed mainly in the Indian sub-continent. It has been traditionally used for Inflammatory bowel syndrome, dysentery, diarrhoea and work infestations. It shows strong anti-microbial, anti-amoebic and anti-helminthic properties.
- Embelia ribes – Commonly called as false black pepper or vidang. It is a large shrub distributed in the tropical and sub-tropical regions. It combats unwanted microbes in the digestive tract, creating a strong and healthy digestive environment.
- Liquorice – Commonly known as glycyrrhiza glabra. The root of this plant is sweet, aromatic flavoured and native to Asia, North Africa and Southern Europe. Liquorice is a well known mucosa anti-inflammatory herb used for GERD, gastritis, duodenic and peptic ulcer.
- Aegle marmelos – It is also known as bilwa or bael, species found in South Asia. It shows prominent anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcer properties.
- Zingiberis – Commonly called as ginger. It is a plant whose rhizome is widely used in traditional preparations. It shows strong anti-emetic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
- Asafoetida – It is an oleo-gum-resin from the exudates of the roots of the Iranian endemic plant. It is commonly known as hing. It helps in digestion and reduces symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea.
- Terminalia chebula – Commonly known as haritki. It is native to South Asia from India to Srilanka, Malaysia and Vietnam. It is traditionally used as a purgative for flatulence, indigestion and gastroenteritis.
